TOY CHEST DEMO PROGRAMS

ACTION 123 PROGRAM OPERATION
----------------------------
Upon activating Actions 123, it will undergo an initialization process
for a period of 15 seconds. During this time, a message box will be
displayed on the screen, and the mouse will be disabled. When the mouse
is re-enabled, you may click on the "OK" bottom to enter the main program.
After initialization, Actions 123 comes up as a blue toy with the first
scenery displayed in the upper-left corner. Below the screen are 10 number
keys, and to the right of the screen are four selection keys. The default
selection is set to the first selection and all other selections are
disabled.
Press a number from 1 to 10 or use mouse to click on the number key to
select a number you wish to display. For example, if you selected 3, 3
rabbits (or another animal) will hop to the screen one after the other to
their designated spots on the screen. You can display other numbers by
repeating this procedure for the duration of the program.
A short music tune will be playing while the animals are moving to their
designated locations. The music can be turned off with the system menu.
The animation will stop with the screen cleared when the main program
window is either moved or resized.
Double-click on the system menu located in the left corner to terminate
program.
MY COLORING BOOK PROGRAM OPERATION
----------------------------------
My Coloring Book uses graphical keys and pull down menus for interface.
The menu bar contains two items, Options and Help. Under Options, there
are three items, Auto Save, Printer Enabled, and User File. Only Auto
Save is available in this version. You may toggle it to select auto sav
default mode is auto save. This means that your child's work is automatically
saved at the local directory every time he or she changes pages or exits
the program. A help manual is not installed for this version.
Most interface are done with graphical keys. These keys are located at the
bottom of the program. The first key is used to turn the pages in the coloring
book. Click it with a mouse to turn to the next page. The second key is
used to print the displayed page when printer is enabled. It is not active
in this version. The third key is used to restore the original design. All
the original designs are stored in the PAGE.DLL, and therefore ensures that
they will always be available even after many uses of the program. When a
page has been worked on, it is stored in the local directory. This saved
page will be the one loaded by the program first. However, if a child wants
to erase the work and start afresh, he or she may click on the restored key
to restore the original design. The forth key is a eraser, when only a
small portion of the picture needs to be redone, a child can click on this
key to obtain an eraser, and then drag the eraser with the mouse to erase
the desired area.
The next sixteen keys are of two types: brushes and crayons. Click on the
brushes with the desired color to color an enclosed area. Click on the
crayons with the desired color to draw. Draw an enclosed shape and color it
with a brush. Your child may use his or her imagination to add new objects
to the design. A blank page is provided for infinite possibilities.
LITTLE PIANO PROGRAM OPERATION
------------------------------
Little piano consists of a piano and a staff. A note can be entered by
mouse clicking on the piano key or a place on the staff. The rhythm of
each note is selected by mouse clicking on one of the three buttons on
the left side of the piano keyboard.
A short music of up to eighteen notes may be composed. To play it, simply
click on the top button on the right side of the piano keyborad. The
buttom button on the right side of the piano keyboard is used to clear
the staff and start afresh.
Keyborad input is entered consecutively. When the end of the staff is
reached, the new note will replace the first note on the staff, and so
on. Staff input ocurres wherever the mouse clicks. If a note is already
there, the new input will replace it. If a gap exists between two notes,
it will be taken as a rest.
There are four pre-recorded short songs:
1. The ABC song.
2. Happy birthday.
3. Little bunny Foo Foo.
4. Old McDonald has a farm.
They can be played by clicking on one of the buttons on the yellow song book.
PICTURES ABC PROGRAM OPERATION
------------------------------
Upon activating PICTURES ABC, it will undergo an initialization process
for a period of 15 seconds. During this time, a message box will be
displayed on the screen, and the mouse will be disabled. When the mouse
is re-enabled, you may click on the "OK" bottom to enter the main program.
After initialization, PICTURES ABC displays the twenty six alphabets with
four selection categories. The categories are: animals, foods, people,
and things. Each category is identified by a graphic symbol displayed in
the blue rectangular area. The default category is animals. You may
select the category by clicking the mouse on the category symbol, or use
the left and right arrow keys to high-lite the desired category symbol.
However, only the animals category contains pictures and voice in the
distribution version.
After the selection has been made, you may start to enter any one of the
twenty six alphabets. This can be done by either pressing the letters on
the keyboard or using the mouse to click on the alphabet button displayed
on the screen. When an alphabet is entered, a picture will come up with
the word associated with the alphabet written on top of the picture. As
the picture appears on the screen, the PC speaker will generate the voice
to pronounce the word. Entering any other alphabet will cause a new
picture to appear and the old picture to disappear. Clicking on the
picture or pressing any non alphabetic key will make the current picture
disappear. This process may be repeated until you wish to terminate the
program.
For the ABC PICTURES distribution version, only the animal category
generate pictures and voice. All other will generate registration
messages.
KIDDIE PUZZLES PROGRAM OPERATION
--------------------------------
Upon activating KIDDIE PUZZLES, it will undergo an initialization process
for a period of 15 seconds. During this time, a message box will be
displayed on the screen, and the mouse will be disabled. When the mouse
is re-enabled, you may click on the "OK" bottom to enter the main program.
After initialization, KIDDIE PUZZLES displays a puzzle in the center
and eleven puzzle pieces on the top and the bottom of the screen. Just
drag the pieces with a mouse to match the shape in the puzzle. When the
mouse bottom is released. If a match is found, the piece will fit in the
puzzle, otherwise, it will return to its original place. When all pieces
are placed, a new puzzles will come up. In the demo program, the same
puzzle will appear but pieces will be in different locations. Double
click on the left corner to exit program at any time.

a demonstration for the registered version of Actions 123. However,
it is copyrighted material, and it is protected by the copyright laws
of the United States. You may not alter, decompile, nor disassemble
the program for any purpose.
